My weak areas reamain the nerves, also I forgot to use the vocabulary, my strengths are the facility to think about what I am going to say refer to the graph. Inthe excercise I include the vocabulary but when I speak I forgot it. instructionsreflectionOne of my weak areas is the speaking I still get nervous and sometimes I don't know what to write in 1 minute, or obtain the most important information and use linking words when I am explaining the graph. Also because I don't order my ideas always forguet to start explaining from the biggest share in the graph to the smallest.
There is no difficult words but there are words I've never seen for example: -Wage, that is the money that pay you for the work you have done. -Catering servce, that is all the service that to provide food , service, etc., as for a party or wedding. -Plummet, this is used to describe that a graph fall very quickly. -Rocket, this is used to describe that a graph rise very quickly. Work with a partner. Take turns to time yourselves for note taking. Look at the following graph and take notes in 1 minute (just brief ideas). Then, describe the graph in 1 minute instructionsThe bar chart shows the breakdown of satisfaction between onshore and offshore. On the other hand offshore the largest number were Engagement and Knowledge constituted more than 90%. As well, the equipmen has to be checked to avoid problems during the conference. Look at the following pie charts and describe them using you notes and vocabulary. You have 1 minute to take notes, then 1 minute to talk: The pie charts describe the changes in the rollout of personal video conferencing systems between the years 2011 and 2013. Overall, the main opinion of the people in both chars is that there was no impact. When you are describing a graph the most important steps be the next ones: ~ Know the main topic of the survey and what the graph is measuring. ~ Don't read the title as it is. It is better if you paraphrase it. ~ Obtain the most important information and use linking words when you are explaining the graph to the public. ~Always start explaining from the biggest share in the graph to the smallest. For these last months that I have to do the BULATS I will study before my test, do some excersices to understand the topic or solving some doubths. Also I have to practice the topic to dominate the topic and do some exercises and ask to the teacher if i have doubths. INSTRUCTIONYour company recently hired a web designing company to update your website. Write a complaint letter in which you explain:
This is the first letter that I did. Dear Mr. Rodriguez INCORRECT DESIGN AND LATE DELIVERY OF THE WEBSITE I am writing to express my dissatisfaction of your company's recent service in updating our website. Last month, my company told you the details of the new design for our website which were urgently needed, we paid the amount that corresponded if we wanted the page in a month. According of what we received, the website does not work for us, the site does not have the online shopping, in addition to that, we received the final product two weeks later. Due to the fact that the website does not have the online shopping, we were forced to put off the web launch moreover lose two weeks of orders. This meant lose a considerable amount of money and time for the company. We have, over the years, been very happy with your service and we have recommended you to other companies working in the sector. A repetition of this problem would result in our having to look for other leasers, it is something we would prefer to avoid. Some of the vocabulary I did know very well, but the structure of the letter I didn't know anything about it, for example if you want to write a complaint letter you have to follow these steps: 1.- For whom is the letter addressed. 2.-Subject about the letter (it has to be short but it has to catch the reader's attention). 3.- Why are you writing the letter. 4.- Details of the problem which occurred. 5.- An explanation of the consequences of the problem. 6.-A threat about what you will do if they do not correct the problem. I have to practice more my writing, in the book there are many excercises that I could use for practice and also study all the vocabulary. Some of the things I will do in order to improve my skills is trying to cover all the points that they give to me. Here are some tips that are useful fo the BULATS test. Somo of my weak areas I identified in the writings that I have done are that I can't order the ideas in the right way and sometimes what I wrote doesn't have sense, and sometimes I forguet about the vocabulary and I don't use it in the letters. instructions task 1Dear Mr. Williams Thanks for the letter I am excited for the conference therefore I am writing you, to confirm the booking. The e-mail were more easy than the report however what I can improve is the lenght of the e-mail. I think that what we wanted to explain can be written in less words, and in the report I sometimes forget to use the passive voice because you can emphasize the person or thing acted on or the subject is not that important and that will help you in the test.
