instructionsTalk about the meetings you have to attend in your company. You should say: • How often you go to meetings • What sort of meetings you have to attend • How effective meetings are • How could the time spent at meetings be improved in your company? Give reasons to your answer. At the company, I work for, I am in charge of engineering department, I have weekly meetings with the staff. There the staff give me a report of the sales and the difficulties they had, also I give them some recommendations and I give my opinion of what are the things that could have done different. Also I have a monthly meeting with the directors and the CEO, there I receive a feedback of the improvements of my work and the sales on my department. These meeting are really important because since we do the meeting every week the sales have increased, therefore the meetings are important and very effective. REFLECTIONI think that talk about “real life working experiences" is very difficult for me because I have never had a job, therefore I had to invent the working experiences. Some of the notes that I take are key words that could help me answer the question like numbers or important names.
The vocabulary that I learnt in this lesson: -Call off a meeting -Scepticism -Advocates The most important things to remember when writing a short email is to keep the message focused, be always formal, identify yourself. instruction 1Bar char description. You have to create 1 of the graphs in a word document, then describe it. In our most recent survey, we interview 2,000 travellers, we found that less tan 10% like the Westin Hotel, whereas more than 10% of the travellers like the Hilton Hotel and more than 20% choose the Marriot Hotel as their favorite.
instruction 2Follow the instructions to write a report. A number of staff have recently told you that they are unhappy about the times when they start and finish work in your company. You have been asked to write a report for the managing director about this. Write about: • Why staff are unhappy with the times • Why it is important to keep staff happy • What solutions your company should adopt for the problem. • Any other points you think are important. INTRODUCTION The purpose of this report is to analyze the insatisfaction on working hours in the former five years and give a recommendation to find a solution of the problems. WHY THE STAFF IS UNHAPPY? The staff is unhappy with the times because for the former five years the working hours were changed and now they have only thirty minutes’ break. What does it mean? The work quality has fall and therefore our products. WHY TO KEEP STAFF HAPPY? From 2010 to now the work quality have decrease 40% therefore our sells have fall. If we want to be the top sellers in the country, we need to keep the staff happy. THE SOLUTIONS One solution could be that we could give them one hour break. But not only that, we could give them more activities like extracurricular activities, or even we can give them training courses. POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND I think that if they go on these activities, we need to have some rules furthermore conditions. Also, we must keep in mind that maybe not all the workers would participate in these activities. CONCLUTION -We can increase our sells, quality and work. -Working hours are reported to be exhausting. REFLECTIONThe parts of a report are:
1.- Title 2. - Introduction 3. - Subheadings (2 or 3) 4. - Conclusions or recommendations The information that I have to invent is all the points that they ask you to write about, as well as either conclusions or recommendations, Nonetheless if you want to make the report sound more realistic you have to use the passive voice in order to inform of important data and use the passive voice. The report is a high level of formality because the reports are for your boss. instructioswrite a short email (50 to 60 words) in which you write down your request. Yours faithfully, DELOY REFLECTIONAbout the negotiations I can conclude that I have to use the fist conditional, always have a formally writing and be brief. One of the biggest challenge is that you have to write many ideas in a short email, and always be formal.
Some of the words that I learn today are: -Memo -Booking -Hire If I see Mary,I will tell her. If I met the Queen of England, I would say hello. Were they useful for negotiation activities? Instructions•Describe how your company promotes its products or services. •You should say: •What promotional activities your company uses •Who decides which activities to use •How effective you think these activities are. •What changes would you like to see in the way your company promotes its products or services? •Give reasons for your answer My company is Tesla Motors. The distribution strategy is much different from that of other automobile manufacturers, because Tesla does not have a dealer network; that’s why my company have a web page where the costumer can see the catalogue. It lets buyers book a car online, without having to visit any of the dealers. The company also offers a test drive to its potential customers. This also acts as a customer contact point for Tesla. When a new product is launched, they promoted it in social media websites and online newspapers. Everyone of the marketing department must make a video or a post promoting the car, then the marketing director with the CEO decides which ones are the best. Until today these activities work very well but I think that if they put some points of sale around world they could sell more cars because that way the people could see the car more directly than a web page even if the people don't want to buy the car, the staff could convince them to buy it.
REFLECTIONI didn't know anything about these topic, or at least I never think about these topic.
